I was honoured when my photo of a Regent Honeyeater, taken in 2013 while studying a Postgraduate course at Charles Sturt University, was selected by the National Trust for the ‘No Time to Spare‘ exhibition. I didn’t pass the course, it was a turbulent year and I chose to attend the Youth Eco Summit rather than sit the exam.

First and foremost my camera is an education and conservation tool to share my observations, using photography to help people engage with birds can be the first step in habitat protection, by showing them what’s there.

Avianation began with a Canon 500D and a 100-400mm zoom lens before upgrading to a7D MkII, 400mm prime lens, both the latter still working well 10 years later. While mid-range they help me do the job and that’s the important part.
